Cooking a burger in an air fryer

Mix beef, red onion, garlic, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, and English mustard together in a mixing bowl.

  • Form patties by pressing a ball of ground beef with your hand and rounding the sides to your desired size.

  • Cook burgers in the preheated air fryer until firm and no longer pink in the centers, about 10 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

  • Cook's Notes:

You may cook these at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C); the temperature depends on your air fryer's recommendation.

After combining ingredients in a bowl, you can leave the mixture in a refrigerator to chill for up to 2 days, if you'd like.

Now let’s talk about the treats in these awesome Air Fryer Hamburgers. That would be

    • Ground beef – Use lean ground beef if you can as it has less fat which means less drippings. You can also use some ground chicken, or ground turkey instead.
    • Flavorings – I am keeping this simple by using salt and black pepper. One of my favorite
    • Cheese – I like using sliced American cheese for topping the burgers, feel free to use 2 or 3 slices per burger depending on thickness.
    • Burger buns – My preference is brioche buns as they offer a hint of sweetness, but use other buns to your taste.

I feel like we should drop everything, whip up a batch or two of these juicy Air FryerBurgers and tuck right in. Who’s with me?

How To Cook Hamburgers On The Grill

    1. Fire up the barbeque / grill  and wait till the coals are medium hot.
    2. Brush the grill with some olive oil.
    3. Burger cooking time depends on how rare you like your burger. As a rough guide cook your burger for 2-3 minutes and then flip and cook for another 2-3 mins and test it. Then keep cooking and testing till the hamburgers are as well-cooked as you like.
    4. Assemble the burgers by putting them in the buns and adding toppings of choice.

    Recipe Tips

    • Do Not overcrowd the Air Fryer – Make sure there is space between each burger so they cook evenly.
    • To avoid the cheese flying off the burger, switch off the Air Fryer before topping the patties with the cheese.
    • Shape the ground beef into similarly sized burger patties so that they cook at the same rate.
    • You can shape these into 2 patties instead of 4, but you would need to cook them for a bit more time.

    Plus…

    • You can use regular burger buns if you are not following a gluten-free diet.
    • Toast the buns for an even better flavor.

    • Double up the cheese if you prefer a cheesier burger.
