Some country clubs only allow a certain amount of members, so earning a spot could be tough. Some hopeful members have an existing member write a recommendation letter to help them earn a spot as a member. A recommendation letter should include a few key items.
- Computer
- Printer
- Pen
- Start your letter by explaining how you know the person trying to get a membership. You shouldn't need to be extremely detailed, but certainly state how long you've known the person. The country club will want to know how long you've known the person so you can prove you're qualified to write the letter.
- Explain why you think the person should be allowed to have a membership. Country clubs want people who are contributing members of the community. Make sure you highlight the important traits the person has. Mention their involvement in the community and why they should be a member. Country clubs will like people who are involved in the community because they help give the country club a good name.
- Summarize your letter at the end to restate your
feeling on why you think the person should be allowed to be a member. Don't sound desperate, but make sure you clearly state your feelings about the person.
- Print the letter out and sign it at the end with a pen.
- Personally deliver the letter to the country club. You probably won't be able to deliver it to the person making the decisions, but should be able to deliver it to a representative.
