How to reset oil life on 2022 ram 1500 classic

Quick and simple tutorial on how to reset the Oil change Maintenance reminder indicator light message on Dodge Ram Pickup (Laramie, longhorn, Power Wagon, R/T, SLT, Sport, TRX, Off-Road, ST, DR, DH, D1, DC, DM, DS, DJ, D2) from year 2002-2003-2004-2005-2006- 2007-2008-2009-2010-2011-2012-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020.

STEP 1

• Shift the gearbox to Park Position. 

STEP 2

• Close all doors.

STEP 3

• Push the start button to RUN Position (Ignition On) Don’t start the engine.

STEP 4

• Fully depress the GAS PEDAL slowly three times within 10 seconds Make sure to depress the pedal all the way down.

STEP 5

• Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset. Repeat this procedure, if the message still illuminates when you start the engine.

Warning:  You need to reset the Oil Life after the Oil Change

How To Reset Oil Change Light On RAM 1500/2500/3500

For information, this method applies to the fourth and fifth generations of Ram pickups (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 model years).

With Gas Pedal (2011-2013)

This little trick works with a lot of the GM’s vehicles, but it’s just that there’s a little difference. On most GM’s vehicles, you can actually kick the gas pedal quickly but you must slowly for this one.

So all you have to do to reset the oil light is depress the gas pedal three times slowly after you turn the ignition to the run position, one click before actually starting it.

With Steering Button (2014-2021)

Time needed: 3 minutes.

We just performed the service on a 2019 RAM 1500, so we gonna clear the oil light. In this chapter, I will use the steering button to access the oil life menu to reset it. So here’s how to do it:

1. Get the car to the run position

   With foot off the brake, press the START button twice

2. Go to VEHICLE INFO

   Use the up or down arrows button to get to the Vehicle Information
   

   

3. Scroll to OIL LIFE

   Then you’re going to oil life by using the left or right navigation button

4. Press and hold the ► button

   Hold down the ► right arrow button to enter the reset mode

5. Select OK or YES

   When a confirmation message appears, highlight the OK or YES and then press ► to confirm

For Ram 1500 DT

• Get in the car and turn it to the run mode
• Go to VEHICLE INFO by using the ▲ or ▼ button
• Scroll to OIL LIFE by using the ◄ or ► button
• Press and hold the OK button to reset it
