PC Local Co-Op with 2 PS4 Controllers

Is there a way to play this in coop with two PS4 controllers? I actually dont own 360controllers (or any other xbox controllers). I tried to play singleplayer with PS4 controller and that worked fine. Then i tried to make two characters and, both of them moved with same controller. Could not figure this out myself.

Thank you for the quick answer.

After a short break in playing, we found some time to try to figure out the issue following your suggestions.

We found a way to play coop consistently, that is tricky but successful almost every time (i don’t know if anybody will ever have the same issue, and need this, but i’ll post it just in case).

1) Player 2 (aka, the one who plays the online coop campaign as a GUEST), creates an arena lobby and invites Player 1 (aka, the one who plays the coop campaign as a HOST).

Both players must have the connectivity set to “Public”.

Often, Player 2 needs to send at least three invitations before Player 1 can join the Arena lobby (after accepting the first invitation, Player 1 is often stuck on a screen with a message that says “connecting”; he should leave the arena menu. The second invitation often results in failing to join the Arena lobby. Finally, the third invitation is often the successful one).

2) After Player 1 has joined, Player 2 leaves the lobby.

3) At this point Player 1 hosts a new campaign, and invites Player 2 to join. If player 2 can’t join, you should restart the whole process from the get-go.

4) Once the new campaign has started, Player 1 loads the campaign the two had trouble playing.

Thank you Raze for your time and a special shout-out to the whole Larian team for creating such an amazing game.

I think this is going to sell really really well

Larian Studios is bringing its acclaimed role-playing game Divinity: Original Sin 2to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this August with help from publisher Bandai Namco. It’ll be available digitally and at retail.

These new versions will sport “a user interface tailored for console play in both four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen co-op modes,” so no worries there. It’s gonna rule with a buddy.

For our part, Patrick called DOS2 “a perfect example of how to create a sequel” and “easily one of the best RPGs of modern times” in his review. Listen to Patrick. Patrick knows what’s up.

Dunno if this has been asked yet but in split screen coop can you...

1. Play with 2 other people online as well?

2. Does 2nd player use their own character on their account and level up, or are they just helping player 1 level up their character?

Thanks for any answers.

It's 2players max so you can either play splitscreen or play online, not both.
The second player uses one of the two characters you have created ay the beginning of the game.

If you are planning to play splitscreen a lot you could create a seperate set of character. 1 for each player and use that game file only for splitscreen while you go off and do your own thing whenever your friend isnt around to play.

Thanks for the answer.

Yes I am planning to play more split screen than online if we cannot do both.
So P1 can create their own characters and P2 can create their own characters and level them both separately in split screen?

I was worried that P2 is only going to be helping P1 level their character.

But if P1and P2 can level their own characters separately during split screen then I might have to give this game a try.

I'm not sure how experience works in this game.
Since a dead character does not recieve experience in battle i'm going to assume a character that does not participate in battle will not get experience from enemies killed.

In splitscreen player 1 could be exploring a cave on a beach while player 2 is stealing stuff in a town.

When you are playing single player you create 2 characters.
In splitscreen player 2 controls one of those characters.
You can start the game in splitscreen right off the bat and have player 2 create a character alongside your character but when you come off splitscreen mode and go to play on your own you will be using your own character and player 2's character as well without their consent.

So create 2 saves.
A splitscreen save so you dony end up wrecking player 2's character or progressing the story/quests without that other person their to experience it.

Then you'll have your own single player save to play with on your own.
I hope I cleared everything up.

Gotcha. Thanks for the help.

We're planning on playing split screen with P2 starting a character straight off the bat.
Then we're only gonna use those characters to couch coop together.

Thanks again.

Wait a tick. I thought all characters level at the same rate by design. So a dead character doesn't receive experience? How could they level at the same rate then?

Now playing - Mass Effect LE (PS5), Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5), Torchlight 3 (Switch)

I don't have the game but I was assuming if someone died another character will revive them so we'll just keep levelling up the same time?

Remember there is no gold or loot sharing outside of tools and keys, best to play with someone you know so you can properly split up the spoils

Oh I did not know that. Good point, thanks for letting me know so I don't have to learn that the hard way.

  3. Split screen coop question

Does Divinity: Original Sin 2 have local co

Divinity: Original Sin 2 has a huge story campaign with over 80 hours of gameplay. It can be played both in single-player, and in co-op with up to 4 players.

Is Divinity 2 a good coop game?

Co-op was amazing, everyone had a role, and we felt like a team. Trading items, finding runes that would suit your co-op partner's character, skillbooks and so on. Every character had his strengths, and in terms of gameplay we may as well have played different games in terms of how we built our characters.

Can you play Divinity: Original Sin co

Divinity: Original Sin allows for multiplayer co-op. Out of the box, it only allows for one additional player, with both players acting as the Source Hunters. Mods exist where more than two can play at once. Any game can be taken online by going into the options menu.

Does Divinity: Original Sin 2 have local co

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition will not be getting co-op on Switch. Over in the PC version of Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition, you can grab up to three friends for some local co-op action. On the Switch version, you'll have to keep your multiplayer to online.
