What does the Bible say about the word of God?But does the Bible ever explain what God's word is? One of my favorite answers to this question is found in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. It says, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
What does Hebrews 4 12 mean?Hebrews 4:12, NLT: For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Where in the Bible does it say the word was God?And Logos was not only with God, but Logos was God. As the succeeding two verses of the Gospel of John make clear, Logos and God are the same being: 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 The same [i.e., Logos, the Word] was in the beginning with God.
Why is the Bible referred to as the word of God?In short, Christians know the Scriptures are God's Word because in them they hear the voice of their Lord. As Jesus declared, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).
