  • For those who are proficient in performing BLS and ACLS skills, reading and interpreting ECGs, understanding ACLS pharmacology; and who regularly lead or participate in emergency assessment and treatment of prearrest, arrest, or postarrest patients

What does this course teach?

  • Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating use of an AED
  • Recognize and manage respiratory arrest
  • Recognize and manage cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including post–cardiac arrest care

What are the new guidelines for CPR?

Push hard and fast, pushing in the person's chest at least two inches with each compression and allowing their chest to rise back up between. You want to aim to do 100 to 120 compressions a minute. Keep doing this until help arrives. An emergency medical service technician can take over at that point.

Is CPR certification online legitimate?

Online CPR Classes It is not possible to receive a valid CPR certification card over the computer. Since CPR involves skills that must be performed under the watchful eyes of an American Heart Association instructor, online CPR courses are fraudulent.

Is HeartSaver first aid the same as CPR?

The AHA's Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
