2022 Ford F-150 High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost® V6

Available exclusively in the Raptor trim, the high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine delivers a real blast of excitement when you’re ready to take your drives past where the pavement ends. Twin turbochargers help generate massive horsepower and torque output, while the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system — with a fuel injector in each air intake port and inside each cylinder — helps boost the power as well.

2022 Ford F-150 3.5L PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6

Introduced in the 2021 model year, the full-hybrid powertrain in the 2022 Ford F-150 harnesses the combined potential of a gasoline engine with an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery, and regenerative braking to make stunning power and efficiency available to you. With the PowerBoost equipped, you can also bring electrical power along for the ride using Pro Power Onboard with up to six 120-volt outlets and an available 7.2 kilowatts of usable power.

2022 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost V6

Like its high-output sibling in the Raptor, the 3.5L EcoBoost uses the sophisticated Ford PFDI fuel injection system and twin intercooled turbochargers to deliver robust power with very little lag when you step on the gas. Pick the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 for the best maximum towing capacity in the half-ton pickup class.

2022 Ford F-150 5.0L Ti-VCT V8

Departing from turbocharged performance, the naturally-aspirated 5.0L Ti-VCT (twin independent variable camshaft timing) V8 engine delivers legendary muscle and best-in-class payload capacity. The V8 uses PFDI fuel injection like the other F-150 engines, and can also shut off half of its cylinders when you don’t need them using variable displacement engine technology.

2022 Ford F-150 2.7L EcoBoost V6

Despite slightly lower displacement than the other EcoBoost engines, the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 powers forward to make astounding horsepower and torque figures. Like other F-150 EcoBoosts, this engine uses PFDI and has two intercooled turbochargers. One of the key differences between the 2.7L EcoBoost and 3.5L EcoBoost is that the 2.7L engine is built with a high-strength compacted graphite iron upper block and cylinders — the other F-150 engines are built with an aluminum engine block.

2022 Ford F-150 3.3L Ti-VCT V6

The base F-150 engine is a naturally-aspirated V6 with twin independent variable camshaft timing and the Ford PFDI fuel injection system.

Performance

The greater displacement of the 3.5L EcoBoost leads to its massive power output and best-in-class towing capacity, while the lower displacement of the 2.7L EcoBoost contributes to its better fuel efficiency.

Engine Block

The 2.7L EcoBoost features a compacted graphite iron engine block, while the 3.5L EcoBoost features an aluminum engine block.

Model Availability

Find the 2.7L EcoBoost available on lower trims and standard on the mid-range Lariat. The robust 3.5L EcoBoost can be equipped on every 2021 F-150, and is standard on the Limited trim.
