Fans were stunned when Rena Sofer announced that she was leaving THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL. The actress made her debut as Quinn Fuller back in July 2013, but after nine years, has decided to move on and see where her career takes her next. Show
“I had already decided this was going to be my last contract,” Sofer revealed in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest, “but when they finished the story of Quinn and Carter coming together, it seemed like the right time.” However, Quinn and Carter won’t really get to enjoy that happy ending because Sofer taped her final episode on Aug. 5 and has no intention of making occasional appearances on the soap. “It’s hard enough to be on a soap opera when you don’t have a story,” she admitted, “but to come back in a recurring role to a show that you were fully invested in as a daily player would not be a comfortable place for me. That is not a step in the direction I want to go. I want to move forward with my life into the scary unknown.” But while Sofer turns her attention to auditioning for new roles as well as continuing to build her pottery business, she wants to make sure fans know that while this is the end for Quinn, it’s not the end for Carter. “One of my greatest accomplishments on this show is being a part of showing the world what a great actor Lawrence Saint-Victor is,” she declared. “For those of you invested in ‘Quarter,’ just know that Rena Sofer is happy and moving on but Lawrence, who plays Carter, has so much more to give you.” So keep watching B&B to see what Carter does without Quinn, and who knows — maybe Sofer will come back one day! In soaps, anything is possible! THE BOLD And The Beautiful first premiered in 1987 and has since released over 8,000 episodes.
