In CAD the convention is to draw full size and apply a zoom factor for printing to a particular scale. To derive the zoom factor you invert the scale and multiply by 12. So: 1/8"=1'-0" -------- 96 3/16"=1'-0" -------- 64 1/4"=1'-0" -------- 48 Halfway between 96 and 48 is 72, and yet the math gives me 64. Besides part of my brain, what am I missing here?

As a proper fraction, it would be 1 1/4 - 2/8 - 4/16. As an Improper fraction it would be 5/4, 10/8 20/16. |
