Heroes of Greece have struggled a lot throughout the Trojan War. Especially, Odysseus has passed through significant obstacles in order to go to war and come back home. After spending years at war, he decides to go back home. His journey back to his family is complicated by the wrath of the sea god Poseidon. Despite new challenges that arise before Odysseus, he does not give up. Eventually, Odysseus meets his wife and son. He restores stability in his home region. He spends ten years in Troy and struggles another ten years to reach home in Ithaca.

Odysseus is an example of the eternal presence of challenges within Greek society. Every individual is repeatedly tried by the gods. The determination is required to overcome their tests. The indicated excerpt speaks of several important elements. It tells the readers that Greek people, especially Odysseus, have lived in trying times for a very long period. Odysseus has managed to pass many years of struggles. However, new trials continue coming in his way. Therefore, it is vital to persevere; otherwise, Odysseus will lose. His son, Telemachus, grows up in hardships. Upon Odysseus’s failure to come back home earlier, suitors start visiting their house. They attempt to convince Penelope to remarry.
