Why is my iphone offline on icloud

I lost my iPhone after I checked it in find my phone it shows that the device is offline.

I want to know it means that the phone is 100% switched off or find my iPhone was not kept on in my iPhone [because I don't remeber correctly it was on or not]

Does find my iPhone works on International Mobile Equipment identity number or Subscriber Identity Module?

You can not find out if the phone is 100% turned off. The issue is that the phone may not have any network connectivity which would cause it to show as off line in find my phone.

The phone needs to communicate with Apple's servers and let them know that it is on and the GPS provides the location information. If a person were to keep the phone on, but turn on Airplane mode, then the phone will show as offline in find my phone.

In regards to the question about whether the phone is on or not, it is either on (but has no internet connection), or is completely dead/switched off.

Find My iPhone is certainly on because if you didn't switch it on, or if it was turned off after setup of the device, it would not appear at all in the Find My iPhone app or on iCloud.

Find My iPhone does not run on SIM cards nor does it run on IMEIs, it solely works based on Apple iCloud Servers.

Een iPhone is offline in de Zoek mijn-app als een grijze stip wordt weergegeven. Als het apparaat wel nog recent online is geweest, zie je de tijd waarop het voor het laatst is gelokaliseerd. Als het apparaat meer dan 24 uur offline is geweest, zie je 'Offline'.

Wat kan je doen als je iPhone offline is in de Zoek mijn-app?

Het kan allereerst zijn dat je iPhone (of iPad) geen verbinding heeft met een bekend wifi-netwerk of het mobiele datanetwerk. Wacht en probeer op een later moment opnieuw je iPhone te lokaliseren via Zoek mijn iPhone. Mocht na geruime tijd je iPhone nog steeds offline zijn, dan kan dat de volgende redenen hebben:

• Het kan zijn dat je iPhone is uitgeschakeld, de batterij is leeg of er is al meer dan 24 uur geen locatie naar Apple verstuurd. In geval van diefstal, kan dit bewust zijn gedaan.
• Je bevindt zich in een land waar de Zoek mijn-functie niet wordt aangeboden. Deze functie is in het land mogelijk niet beschikbaar wegens technische beperkingen of de plaatselijke wetgeving. In Nederland en eigenlijk bijna alle andere landen ter wereld is Zoek mijn wel beschikbaar.

In beide gevallen is de kans dat je je iPhone via de Zoek mijn-app zal terugvinden helaas niet groot. Het is daarom altijd van belang om het volgende te doen:

Stap 1: Schakel de Verloren modus in

Met de Verloren-modus kun je jouw iPhone of iPad op afstand vergrendelen met een toegangscode en een bericht weergeven op het toegangsscherm van het zoekgeraakte apparaat met daarbij een telefoonnummer. Een eventuele vinder kan je dan bereiken.

Stap 2: Doe aangifte bij de plaatselijke politie

Geef het verloren of gestolen apparaat aan bij de plaatselijke politie. Hier heb je mogelijk het serienummer voor nodig die je terug kan vinden op de verpakking of de factuur.

Stap 3: Wis het apparaat via Zoek mijn iPhone

Wis alle bestanden en gegevens op je iPhone of iPad via de Zoek mijn-app door het apparaat te selecteren en op 'Wis iPhone/iPad' te klikken. Hiermee kan je voorkomen dat iemand anders toegang krijgt tot je persoonlijke gegevens die op je iPhone/iPad staan. Wanneer je het apparaat wist, worden alle gegevens (inclusief de creditcard- en bankpasgegevens) op het apparaat verwijderd zodra deze opnieuw wordt ingeschakeld. Verwijder het apparaat niet uit je Apple ID-account!

Als je op een later moment je iPhone weer terugvindt, kan je een reservekopie terugzetten om alle gegevens weer op je iPhone te zetten.
