NOTE: The Clerk’s Office does not offer passport photo service. You will need to bring your photo with you to your appointment in order to complete your application. The State Department requires customers to remove eyeglasses for their passport photo. Passport FeesTwo separate forms of payment are required. Fees payable to the US Department of State MUST be paid by MONEY ORDER or CHECK. Fees payable to the Clerk may be paid by CASH, CREDIT CARD, or MONEY ORDER.
If you would like to expedite your passport application, there is a $60 fee payable to the Department of State. For more information regarding expediting your application, please contact the Clerk’s Office. NOTE: There is a 3.5% service fee on all credit card transactions. Regardless of whether the application is for a new passport or a renewal, Form DS-11 must be completed for minors (under age 16) and the following must be provided:
NOTE: BOTH PARENTS must be present to sign the application. If only one parent is present, the absent parent must submit a notarized Statement of Consent (form DS-3053) and a photocopy of the front and back of his/her driver's license. The consent form cannot be more than three months old. Alternatively, you can go to a specific Absa, FNB, Standard Bank or Nedbank branch to have your biometrics taken and collect your new passport.

Renewing your passport at the post office is one of those perks that can make your life a lot easier, especially if you don't live very close to the passport acceptance center.
