When is mcdonalds breakfast all day coming back

In a since-deleted tweet that was shared by Twitter account @bereniceruizzz on Thursday (1 September), featured a screenshot of a McDonald’s press release which read:

“McDonald’s is making breakfast history again by offering All Day Breakfast nationwide starting October 6th, allowing customers to enjoy some of their breakfast favorites outside of traditional breakfast hours.”

The issue is that the press release in question was from 2015. This means that Bacon Egg and Cheese McGriddle or Egg McMuffin lovers will have to get up in the early morning to buy their favourite meal.

In a subsequent tweet, @bereniceruizzz added that they’re “so sad” that the announcement wasn’t “real.”

In a report from CNBC, a McDonald’s spokesperson confirmed that the press release was old and there were no plans to bring back the all-day-breakfast menu.

In October 2015, the international fast-food chain began to offer its all-day breakfast menu.

Steve Easterbrook, the company’s CEO at the time, accurately predicted that the marketing strategy would increase sales figures.

But in 2020, with the height of the coronavirus pandemic, the all-day-breakfast menu was stopped.

The company noted that it was stopping the all-day breakfast menu to help “simplify operations in our kitchens and for our crew.”

In the company’s fourth quarter in 2015, sales did increase by 5.7 per cent.

Still, a report from the New York Post reads that franchisees who operated McDonald’s locations across the US weren’t keen on the all-day breakfast initiative and said it decreased the service.

Breakfast items tend to be cheaper than the rest of the menu, and operators said the breakfast option accounted for less revenue.

(NEXSTAR) — Despite how excited a few social media posts may have gotten you for the return of all-day breakfast at McDonald’s, don’t make your way to the drive-thru just yet.

In a written statement to Nexstar, a McDonald’s representative said the information being shared online is actually from a 2015 press release, when McDonald’s USA first announced all-day breakfast.

“We don’t have any updates to share about breakfast offerings at this time,” the representative said.

McDonald’s’ all-day breakfast was halted in March 2020, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, as the company made adjustments to simplify operations for local workers. The original 2015 rollout of all-day breakfast was a boon for McDonald’s, with the company saying the change was a “very strong catalyst for momentum.” McDonald’s posted higher-than-expected first-quarter earnings in 2016, much of which was attributed to the popularity of its breakfast, CNBC reports.

So what time does McDonald’s stop serving breakfast now?

Prior to 2015, McDonald’s stopped serving breakfast at 10:30 a.m. Since the end of all-day breakfast, that time has been re-instated, though some locations may serve breakfast until 11 a.m.

McDonald’s’ breakfast menu is home to some of America’s fast-food breakfast faves, including the Egg McMuffin and the Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit.

Breakfast at McDonald’s 101

The company officially added the breakfast line to menus nationwide in 1977, Mcdonald’s says. The full line came about after a long development of the Egg McMuffin, which began in early 1971.

According to McDonald’s owner Ray Kroc’s 1977 autobiography, local franchise owner Herb Peterson developed the sandwich and asked Kroc to try it. Kroc says Peterson refused to tell him what it was — fearful the owner would reject the idea — until after he’d tried it.

“He didn’t want me to reject it out of hand, which I might have done, because it was a crazy idea — a breakfast sandwich,” Kroc writes in “Grinding it Out: The Making of McDonald’s.” “… I boggled a bit at the presentation. But then I tasted it and I was sold. Wow!”

Egg McMuffins — the first McDonald’s breakfast item — were tested in select locations in 1972 and priced at 63 cents.

I have a confession to make, one of my all-time favorite meals is “breakfast for dinner” and it usually hits our dinner table a few times per month. So it goes without saying that I’m a huge fan of McDonald’s serving breakfast all day long. Sure a quarter pounder with cheese is tasty, but in my book it doesn’t hold a candle to a sausage McMuffin, especially as a late night snack. Here’s everything you need to know about McDonald’s breakfast hours and the current all-day breakfast “situation” so you can plan your life accordingly.

So…Does McDonald’s Have Breakfast All Day Long?

No. (Insert tears here)

It went away back in 2020 when the pandemic hit, which sucks because there’s nothing better than a hash brown and Egg McMuffin at 10 o’clock at night.

What Time Does Breakfast End and Lunch Begin?

10:30 a.m.

I called a couple dozen McDonald’s locations and everyone said they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30 a.m..

A couple locations did tell me that they usually still have plenty of breakfast items up until 10:45 but they officially stop making breakfast at 10:30.

So What Exactly Are McDonald’s Breakfast Hours?

5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

These breakfast hours are 7 days a week and basically 363 days a year.

The only 2 days when the vast majority of McDonald’s close their doors are on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.

Some franchise owners may also decide to close on Thanksgiving Day.

Will Mickey D’s Ever Bring All-Day Breakfast Back?

Hopefully.

Most McDonald’s location did serve breakfast all-day up until the COVID-19 pandemic.

It became too expensive to serve breakfast all day when they were losing employees and having trouble getting breakfast items delivered.

My hope is that at some point all-day breakfast at McDonald’s will come back…so stay tuned.

Are There Any “Secret” Breakfast Menu Items?

Yes.

There are actually three McDonald’s secret menu items that I want to highlight:

1. Hash Browns McMuffin

Order any Egg McMuffin, or breakfast sandwich, and add an order of hash browns to the middle.

Fried potato heaven is the outcome.

2. McChicken and Waffles

To make this happen you start by ordering a McGriddle, minus the eggs, and substitute crispy chicken instead of sausage or bacon.

Then throw on a little syrup for some sweetness if you like living on the edge.

3. Portuguese Sausage McMuffin

Only in McDonald’s locations in Hawaii will you find the “spicy Portuguese sausage”.

So when in Hawaii, order the Sausage McMuffin but substitute in the spicy Portuguese sausage for real nice surprise.

What Are the Best Values on the Breakfast Menu?

If you’re pinching pennies here are a few of the best breakfast values at McDonalds.

1. Big Breakfast w/ Muffin ($5.89) – For under $6, you get scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, and a yummy English muffin.

2. Big Breakfast w/ Muffin and Hotcakes ($7.99) – Same meal as above but you also get 3 big ol’ pancakes for only $2 more.

3. Sausage Egg Biscuit Meal ($6.79) – For this one you get a small cup of coffee, hash browns, and a tasty sausage & egg biscuit sandwich.

What breakfast values at McDonald’s do you typically order?

It’s also worth mentioning that their coffee is VERY good and way more affordable than Starbucks or Peets.
