Traveled with partner Nov 13, 2022 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service We stayed at the Westin Grand Central for two nights (10 & 11 Nov). When we entered the room my favourable thoughts quickly took a downturn when I saw a long black hair on top of the bed. Another hair was shortly to be found in the middle of the bathroom floor. I promptly put those in the bin and then saw another under the vanity
unit. Trying to ignore these and settle in for the night I further discovered three more long black hairs just at the edge of the duvet – half underneath. I have to say I found that disgusting and it definitely disturbed my sleep. It made me wonder what had been going on in the room. I have not found something like that in any of the numerous hotels we have stayed in. It is not something you expect from the likes of the Westin where you expect a certain standard. I complained to a receptionist
on Friday morning who wrote down some details and said that the manager would not be in before noon and that I would be contacted. Admittedly we went out before this time but there weren’t any messages left for us on our return. On checking out I also complained to another receptionist and although she was apologetic she just gave me a contact card. A further irritation was that there was no conditioner in the bottle attached to the wall. Another thing that should have been checked. How was the
room not checked properly before given to a guest? But it certainly takes the 4 star to 2 star plus at night people come in late and make noise like its 2pm in the afternoon. House keeping was friendly and supportive. Oh and you need your card to go up to your floor in the elevator which makes this place safe!
