   Hi, i have a Samsung s9+ and suddenly from this afternoon, without any obvious reason, whenever i try to call any number either from my contacts, or recent calls or anything, i get this message "invalid number" and a busy tone in the phone for 3 secs. The first time, i rebooted the phone and everything worked fine so i imagined it was a glitch or smtg but after about 30 min when i tried to make a call same thing happened. I tried almost everything even reset network setting but with no success. The only workarround that i have managed to figure out how to make a call is to put the phone to flight mode, then try to make the call and when the message " turn off flight mode to make the call?? " appears i press yes and the call is done. Tomorrow i'll try to buy a new sim card just in case the problem is there.
   Any suggestion would be great. Thank you in advance.

   What carrier you have?
   Make sure your bill is paid?
   If you put in safe mode same happens?

   @mustang7757 The bill is paid. I can send and receive sms, i have data and i can surf to internet and ppl can call me. But i cant make a call. When i put it in safe mode and then back to normal, i still cant make calls. When i put it to flight mode and try to make a call while in flight mode, then after the warning message for turning off flight mode , the call is done automatically.

   Did this start happening now or been on and off for awhile?
   Which carrier you have because sprint is having issues.

   @mustang7757 I live in Greece and i use Cosmote as my carrier. This thing started today about 6 hours ago. No software update, no app update, no new app installed. Tried to make a call and "invalid number" appeared. The think is that the message appears almost instantly when pressing the call button. Its not like it tries to call and after couple or more seconds you get the message. The moment you press the call the same moment the message appears.

   I see. I thought you were here in the US , but it's ok. Have you try to reset the APN see if anything changes . Another question do you have any issues people calling you?

   mustang7757 People can call me and i have no problem with that. I did reset the APN and still nothing. It's like having call barring on and rejects all calls you try to make. The most strange thing is that when i use this trick " flight mode on" -> call the number-> get the message "Turn off flight mode to make call ?" -> press yes - and the call is done , then for the next few minute i can make any call with any number. After few minutes , when i try to make a call same error appears : "invalind number" . By the way, thank you for your help.

   When you do flight mode its turning data off then on and probably catches a tower close by , I think you should take to your carrier looks like a issue with network

    @mustang7757 tomorrow morning i'll check with my provider to check it. I have a feeling (and a hope) that the problem lays in the sim card. I'll post any news about this problem when i find a solution. Have a great day.

    That defeats putting it in safe mode. Put it in safe mode, then see if you can make calls. If you can, it's some app you installed that's causing the problem. If it doesn't fix it, that's not the problem, so you can go back to normal mode.

    If it turns out to be an app you installed, try uninstalling them in reverse order of the order you installed them, if you can remember. (Or, if the phone is rooted, just freeze the likely suspects and if it works, unfreeze them one at a time, making calls, until you can't - then the last one you unfroze is the one causing the problem.)
