Sympathy gift baskets for loss of mother

A gourmet food basket is a great sympathy gift. When someone is working to overcome a loss, they might forget to eat, or they might be so busy making funeral arrangements that they don't have time to supply their home with ample food. Grief also causes a great deal of stress on the body. FTD offers a variety of nice gift baskets that can help alleviate those problems facing mourners. Our fruit baskets provide much-needed nutrients to the bereaved, while our gourmet food and chocolate baskets provide nourishing comfort food that may temporarily give warm feelings and energy to grieving persons. Our sympathy gifts are suitable for the loss of a mother, father, husband, wife, sibling, co-worker, or any familiar relationship.

An FTD gift basket makes for a perfect supplement to our flowers. So does a remembrance gift. Our remembrance gifts consist of decorative vases that hold sympathy flowers, plants, and topiary. The vases are heartfelt mementos that can be displayed around the home long after the funeral. We also deliver floral arrangements in lovely decorative baskets. Baskets add a homely touch to any floral arrangement.

What Do You Write in a Sympathy Card?

Writing a sympathy card can be a challenge. An understated card may come across as un-empathetic, while an overstated card may come across as phony; it can be difficult to find the right balance. Read our guide on writing sympathy cards to find the best way to express your best wishes and sympathy. Many times, words cannot express the depth of a loss. A simple “My deepest condolences on the loss of X. Thinking of you in this difficult time,” is sufficient. So is “So very sorry for your loss.” The most important thing is that the family of the deceased know that you are there for them, in whatever way possible.

Are These Sympathy Gifts Suitable for the Loss of a Pet?

Our sympathy gifts and sympathy baskets are absolutely suitable for the loss of a pet! Our beloved pets often become true members of our family. For that reason, the loss of a pet should be treated with the same genuine and heartfelt sympathy. Our sweet sympathy baskets and gifts are not too lavish for expressing remembrance of a family animal.

How Quickly Can I Get a Sympathy Basket Delivered?

At FTD, our comfort gift baskets can be delivered in a few days, the next day, or even the same day. This is because we're a national delivery service and pair with local florists and shops to ensure your items arrive fast and fresh. We offer same day sympathy flower delivery in most instances.

What Should I Gift Someone Who Lost a Loved One?

Knowing what to say when someone loses a loved one can be hard. Let a special gift from FTD do the talking for you. Some thoughtful gifts you can send someone who lost a loved one include:

  • Memorial plans

  • Sympathy plants

  • White flower bouquets

  • Chocolate gift baskets

  • Condolence gift baskets

Whether they lost a pet, relative, friend, or coworker, a sympathy gift basket from FTD is a great way to cheer them up and let them know how much you care about them. Send a flower delivery to accompany a sympathy gift basket.

What is an Appropriate Sympathy Gift?

Each life is unique. The appropriate sympathy gift for one person might not prove the best choice for another individual. Much depends on how the deceased lived and the circumstances of their passing. For instance, the type of gift basket sympathy expression may differ if the deceased had been sick for some time rather than a sudden and unexpected death. If the family holds a post-burial reception, you may want to send a sympathy gift basket containing items to share with guests.

To find the right gift to express your care, Shop All Sympathy Gifts at FTD. While a sympathy gift basket delivery or sympathy flowers are delivered to the home or office of those suffering a loss, a funeral flowers delivery is sent directly to the funeral home for the service.
