Houston Hobby Airport consists of a single Passenger Terminal equipped with both the Central and the International Concourses. 

Levels

Houston Hobby Airport Terminal facilites are split into three levels as follows: 

Level 1

This is the Arrivals level. Find here both international and domestic arrivals, plus the baggage claim area, among other services such as information desks, ATM, animal relief area, chapel, etc.

Access from this level to the Red Garage and the Ecopark. 

Find available the ground transportation area divided into 7 different areas. 

Level 2 

Level 2 is the Departures level, also for Ticketing and Check-in.

Once cleared security, passengers can access to the boarding gates and to further concessions and amenities. 

The Central Concourse is home of boarding gates 20 to 50, mostly for domestic flights. 

The International Concourse is home of 5 boarding gates, just for international flights. Note that 4 of them are for Southwest international services.

Please note that Level 2 is connected to the Red Parking Garage levels 2 to 4. 

Level 3

Level 3 houses the pedestrian bridge that connects to the Blue Garage.

Terminal Level 1 - Main Terminal

Level 1 of the Terminal consists of Baggage Claim, an ecopark, Ground Transportation, International Arrivals, Passenger Pick-Up, and the Red Garage. Baggage Claim has baggage carousels 1 and 2 for Southwest Airline, and baggage carousels 3 and 4 for American Airlines, Delta, and Southwest.

Ground Transportation outside is divided into Zones 1 - 7:

    • Zone 1 houses METRO Lift, Rental Car shuttles, and SuperShuttle;
    • Zone 2 houses Passenger Pickup, and Taxis;
    • Zone 3 houses Hotel/Motel shuttles, METRO Buses, O-Airport Parking Shuttles, and Passenger pickup;
    • Zone 4 houses Charter Bus, Limos, O-Airport Parking Shuttles, and Shared-Ride shuttles;
    • Zone 5 houses Mobile Ride Pickups for Get Me, GreenLight (GLT), Lyft, Uber, and Wingz;
    • Zone 6 houses rental car counters for Avis, Buget, Dollar, and Enterprise; and
    • Zone 7 houses rental car counters for Alamo, Hertz, National, and Thrifty.

Airport Information Booths are available on Level 1 at the Houston Interactive Center.

Interactive Visitor Kiosks are situated at the baggage claim. An ATM can be found near the baggage claim as well.

There is a Service Animal Relief area near the Ground Transportation Zone 4 and Red Garage. There is also a Chapel near the baggage claim. Smoking areas are offered 25 feet away outside Level 1. This Level also has a Little Library near Gate 44.

Vending Machines are included in the pre-security at the baggage claim and another near Ground Transportation Curb Zone 1. Water Bottle Filling Stations are also included in the following areas: inside the post-security area at FIS, at the exit area for International Arrivals, and at the baggage claim.

Additionally, there are TTY phones, pay phones, and courtesy phones at several points inside Level 1.

Terminal Level 2 - Central Concourse

Level 2 of the Terminal consists of all gates to the terminal airlines, ticketing/check-in services, valet parking services, and the Red Garage.

The Central Concourse with gates 20-32 on the east side and gates 40-50 on the west side is currently served by American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and ViaAir. The International Concourse with five arrival/departure gates, four of which are for Southwest's international flights, houses14 security lanes, Federal Inspection Services, 16 Primary/Passport Inspection stations, 3 baggage claim devices, Global Entry, and APC kiosks.

Airport Information Booths are available on Level 2 at the Houston Interactive Center at two locations: near the security checkpoint and in the post-security area near the Rotunda. Interactive Visitor Kiosks are situated near Gates 1, 22, and 42, as well as in the post-security area near the Rotunda.

Three ATMs can be found here: one in the pre-security inside the Main Lobby and the other two near Gates 1 and 21. Currency exchange service is located on Level 2 next to the security checkpoint.

Mother Rooms are located near Gate 40 and there is a Service Animal Relief area near Gate 20. Shoe shine services are provided near the main entrance and near Gate 41. There is also a Chapel on the Central Concourse, near Gate 44. Smoking areas are offered 25 feet away outside Level 2.

Terminal Level 3

Level 3 of the Terminal at the Houston Hobby Airport has a pedestrian bridge to the Blue Garage.

Food, Shops & Amenities

As you will see on the Houston Airport Map, there are many options for shopping and dining around the HOU airport. Some notable shops and restaurants include Culturemap and H-Town on Level 1, and Barry’s Pizza, Hunan Return of the Phoenix, and Executive Style Jewelry on Level 2.

Security Checkpoints

The security checkpoints at the HOU airport are monitored by the Federal TSA - Transportation Security Administration. Only passengers possessing tickets are allowed to proceed beyond any of the security checkpoints. All security checkpoints provide access to the concourses and airplane gates.

Airline Lounges

The USO Lounge for the U.S. Military can be found on Level 2. From the Central Concourse, take the elevator between Gates 44 and 46 downstairs to reach the lounge. International Arrivals & Transfers

International passengers travelling into the HOU airport have the arrivals on the west concourse at international arrival gates. They proceed immediately to FIS - Federal Inspection Services (FIS) and clear immigration. There are three ways of clearing: 1) Simplified Arrivals for all passengers, 2) Global Entry Trusted Traveler Network Program kiosk for members only, and 3) Mobile Passport Control (MPC) for US and Canadian passport holders. After clearing, they collect their luggage however Aruba flight passengers are pre-cleared. After baggage claim, they reach Customs exit control and leave the airport. Passengers who have to pay duty, do so during the secondary screening. All restricted items should be declared by all passengers during the processing of immigration. CBP Agriculture Specialist examines food, plant, and other agricultural items for all passengers.

Transit passengers are subject to the regular screening at the TSA security checkpoint, and from there they reach the Departure concourse. These passengers arrive, reach the recheck hallway, move to recheck their luggage, and then exit secondary screening before departure.
