Cans came and they are super rusty. Also, my vet says that I actually should not have been able to buy these from any old vendor, and that I would actually need a prescription. Anyhow, the cans advertised in the image advertised are different than the cans I got. I assumed I was getting the “naturals” version and instead I got low fat. I’d like my 50 dollars back.

I’ve tried other recommended dog food from the vet and this is the only one that both dogs loved.

My 16-year-old doxie lost half her lower jaw to cancer 3 years ago and this past year has developed pancreatitis and kidney issues. Feeding her is a balancing act and it requires attention to adhering to a low-fat diet to keep her painful pancreatic bouts under control and having a food that is lower in protein (to not tax her kidneys) and soft enough for her to lap up when mixed with a little warm water. I do make food for her, but like to have a low-fat option on hand for those days when I run out of homemade food or when traveling. This food is one of two wet foods that her vet has previously given to me following acute pancreatic episodes.

I was happy to see it carried on Amazon and not requiring a prescription. The price was the same or a little less expensive than the local vet's office. The order arrived in a timely way with a few dented cans, but overall the order was as expected with expiration dates for the food being in mid-2022.

This food has prebiotics and fiber which aid in the digestion of the food for dogs with gastrointestinal issues related to too much fat in their diets. it also contains antioxidants and is highly digestible.

The food is a loaf-type and fairly low in liquids, but it can be easily chopped, mixed with low-fat broth, and added to other foods if desired. Its flavor isn't a favorite for my dog, but out of the low-fat options available, it's her favorite. I think it's a lot like people-food, we like fatty foods because they taste good, even if they aren't the best for us.

If your dog is having issues with their gastrointestinal tract (diarrhea or vomiting) be sure to get your dog's vet to check them out to find the root cause. If they need a low-fat diet, this food is well worth considering.

My dog loves it--has to be on a low fat diet because of her Liver. Too bad, though, it doesn't come in different flavors!

Recommended by my vet. I have a very finicky dog that needs to take a lot of medication twice a day with food or her stomach will hurt. She turns her nose up at 90 percent of everything I tried. EVERYTHING! I finally started making her chicken and rice for her meals. But then she was not getting full nutrition. ARGH! But she Woolf’s this stuff down as if it was fillet mignon and she’s now getting a much more balanced diet as well. So relieved. Thank you!!
