I'm currently looking for a part-time and/or full-time driver between the hours of 7:00AM-4:00PM (with breaks) Monday-Friday. Weekend work and after hours work is possible. Driver must have the following mandatory qualifications:

-At least 25 years of age
-Valid Wisconsin Drivers license
-Clean driving record
-Must be very familiar with the city of Milwaukee
-Personable (daily interactions with school staff, therapists, and kids/adults of various ages. The kids often have behavioral issues so patience is necessary too)
-Efficient, reliable, and dependable
-Must own a cell phone
-NO PRIOR FELONY CONVICTIONS (I will run a thorough background check)
-MUST pass drug test (prior to beginning work with this company and random drug testing throughout employment)
-Prior driving experience for work, such as school bus driving, Milwaukee city bus driving, non-emergency medical transportation driving, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
-First Aid and CPR Certified ( I can help you obtain this if you don't have it)
-Defensive Driving Certificate (I can help you obtain this if you don't have it)
-Reliable form of transportation to the work site. (A company vehicle will be provided for work once at the work site)

The pay is $500/week, which is non-negotiable.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Gurney Van Driver will operate a gurney van equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired
individuals to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, private homes, dialysis units, doctor’s offices, rehabilitation
centers, etc. in a safe and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Picks up patients at home or other facility. Provides the assistance required to safely board patients and caregivers.
• Operates Stryker gurney as needed for safe and comfortable patient transportation.
• On arrival at medical facility, assists patients in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas.
• Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
• Provides first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport. Immediately notifies emergency staff and dispatcher if skilled assistance is required.
• Completes reports at the end of a shift.
• Immediately reports traffic accidents to dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed. Assists injured persons from first-aid kit until these services arrive. Completes company accident reports.
• Checks all equipment for future readiness, maintains van in operable condition, ensures van cleanliness and orderliness
of equipment and supplies, decontaminates vehicle interior after each transport.
• Completes a thorough vehicle maintenance inspection prior to vehicle operation.
• Maintains positive behaviors, attitudes and commitments to interpersonal service in regard to customer, visitors, and coworkers.
• Performs related duties as assigned by management, supervisor, or dispatch.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Possession of the patience and tact necessary for contacts with patients, both adult and children, and their caregivers.
• Must be reliable and capable of working independently and remaining calm in case of emergency.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Must hold a currently valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.
• Fluency in English required. Depending on assigned area, knowledge of Spanish would be helpful.
• Satisfactory completion of a company training program in passenger assistance techniques, sensitivity training, and map reading, or demonstrated competence based on previous employment experience.
• Satisfactory completion of CPR training provided by a local emergency medical training facility or a certificate indicating prior successful completion of such training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and position patients frequently. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. without assistance.
• Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.
• Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with
patients.
• Regular exposure to injuries and illness.
• Frequent need to handle emergency or crisis situations.
• Exposure to a variety of weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to the risk of bloodborne diseases.
