If you’re reading this right now, you’re in the middle of a global pandemic and have officially run out of things to do. But don’t worry! I’m not going to focus on any of the terrible you’re tired of hearing about on the daily. I’m here to give you some fresh new ideas on how to utilize your time. Social distancing is a great opportunity to take on new indoor hobbies. Let me share with you two that have occupied my self-isolation period:
Betty Crocker No-Bake Cookie Dough Bites (Birthday Cake)Betty Crocker No-Bake Cookie Dough Bites are safe to eat raw, ready in 15 minutes or less, and only require adding butter & cream cheese. The mix is an easy find at Walmart, and we’re going to assume you already picked up plenty of butter and cream cheese during one of your hoarding sprees. Thankfully the recipe doesn’t call for any toilet paper, but in the event that these are really, really good, you might want to wait until you can find some. The mix uses heat treated flour and plenty of sprinkles. It also includes a packet of vanilla flavored candy melts to use as icing. To prepare: Step 1: Wash your hands thoroughly to ensure you don’t give your cookie dough bites the coronavirus. Step 2: Microwave cream cheese and butter for 20-30 seconds until both are soft. Step 3: Stir in the No Bake Cookie Dough mix until very well blended and form the dough. Step 4: Shape dough into balls (recommended size 1-inch). The mix yields 18 balls, or about 10 if you’re a fatass like me. Step 5: Stay at least six feet away from other people at all times and throw things at them if they try to eat some of your cookie dough bites. Step 6: Microwave candy melts on High for 1 minute, stir until melted, and drizzle over cookie dough. Note: Social distancing has not made me a better decorator. Step 7: Wash your raw, cracked, and bleeding hands seven more times. Step 8: Refrigerate until set and enjoy! Betty Crocker No-Bake Cookie Dough Bites in Birthday Cake flavor certainly have the yellow cake and funfetti flavor you know and love. Very soft and thick. They’re not super duper sugary but the heavy amount of cream cheese helps yield a vanilla cake frosting vibe. While I enjoy these, my biggest complaint actually ties to that high amount of cream cheese. It gives these cookie dough bites a bit of a sour element that highlights the fact that it’s not a proper & true cookie dough. Or maybe I just suck at measuring. Still, pretty good considering the minimal amount of effort involved. Burning Questions:
