Laser blue, snakeskin-inspired textiles, and double Swooshes have all appeared on the Nike Air Max 90 within the past week. And just when you’d think the brand would dial things up for the silhouette’s next colorway, they go and surprise, opting instead for a three-part palette we’re all well-accustomed to seeing.
In regards to its colorway, this Air Max 90 doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel. The mesh base, for starters, is clad in a light grey shade, one that complements the ribbed molds and textured Swoosh adjacent. Black, then, brushes the suede quarter as well as the leather mudguard, matching that of the laces, lining, and part of the sole unit, the latter of which is cushioned with a bold ruby-colored Air Unit. This red, then, makes additional appearances throughout the shoe, marking near every instance of branding.

Although much attention is currently being payed to the Nike Air Max “Bacon” set to return on March 26th, dozens of the silhouette’s mainline arrangements have also sparked interest among old and new sneaker enthusiasts alike. Panning out to be a full-blown collection, a denim-twill style indulged in a white, red and blue color palette has recently landed on Tinker Hatfield’s design, shortly after appearing on an Air Force 1 and Air Max 97.
For its forthcoming ensemble, the Air Max 90 has taken on a white, mixed-materials base that allows rich scarlet and navy tones to revel in the spotlight. Profile swooshes and collar lining boast the former color, while the tongue, mudguard, “NIKE AIR” and other detailing across the upper indulge in the patriotic trio’s remaining hue. As has been the case with other Nike Sportswear icons to release over the last year, the pair’s heavy-duty construction may reveal disparate colors and/or patterns with wear-and-tear, but what’s certain right out of the box is that the sole units partake in a mostly-tonal color scheme. The visible Air Max unit and most of the waffle-pattern tread, however, introduce icy blue flair into the mix.
Enjoy official images of the shoes here below, and expect a Nike SNKRS launch during summer (perhaps to coincide with July 4th).

After dropping an inside-out variation of its classic Air Max 90 sneaker earlier this month, Nike once again turns its focus to the famed silhouette for a crisp “Chlorine Blue” iteration. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the Air Max 90 still remains true to its roots, housing the
brand’s textbook Waffle sole and Max Air cushioning, alongside stitched overlays and TPU accents. Dressed in a color scheme dubbed “Chlorine Blue/Fusion Red”, each shoe boasts warped branding on the lateral rear-quarter and neutral toning across the remainder of the upper. Available now from the Nike webstore, the Air
Max 90 “Chlorine Blue/Fusion Red” retails at £119.95 (approximately $160 USD). In other sneaker news, Nike By You now lets you customize the Blazer with tie-dye patterns.
