one of those multi-function door control pads by the door to the house. It looks almost exactly like this one It has a big square button to operate the big door and two smaller buttons below it - one for lock and one for lights. I need to move the pad to repair surrounding drywall. How can I remove the cover without breaking it? 01-12-10, 11:29 AMJoin Date: Oct 2002 Location: Hamilton County, Ohio Posts: 4,295 Likes: 0 Just read the instruction section on the site you posted. I believe it says to gently pry it at the top. to release the top tab, and then swing it out and lift to disengage the two bottom tabs. 02-04-10, 04:25 AMJoin Date: Aug 2007 Location: Virginia, USA Posts: 226 Likes: 0 Received 0 Likes on 0 Posts UPDATE I ended up just ripping it off of the wall because it wast obvious how to remove it. But I did discover how it is supposed to work. There is a big square white button that operates the rolling garage door. At the top of that is a slot between the button and the control pad housing itself. Pry the white button off with slotted screwdriver and it swings down. Remove it and one screw is visible. Unscrew this and slide the whole assembly upwards on the wall. It will come free. 06-29-13, 03:33 PMJoin Date: Jun 2013 Location: USA Posts: 1 Likes: 0 Received 0 Likes on 0 Posts Thank you for the perfect solutionThank you knothandy for letting us know how to do this. This helped a lot! How do you remove the cover from the garage door opener? How do I open the lens cover on my garage door opener to replace a bulb?. Remove the two screws (at the top) that attach the lens cover to the front panel.. The lens cover will drop down like a hinge, while you change the bulb.. |
