This is the primary way of checking your Cash App balance. However, if you don’t have the app installed for some reason, see other ways of checking the Cash App balance below. 

To check your Cash App balance via the app:

1. Open the Cash App
2. See the balance in the bottom left of the home screen, or
3. Tap on $ in the bottom left of the app

Once you open the balance screen, you can not only see the balance of your Cash App and Cash Card account (they’re connected), but you can also choose to add more money or cash it out. 

Cash App is inherently a simple money transfer app. However, you can also buy Bitcoin and stocks with it.

How to Check The Balance of Bitcoin And Stocks

To see what stocks you own at the moment, how much they’re worth,  as well as how much Bitcoin you own:

1. Open the Cash App
2. Tap on the investing icon at the bottom of the screen
3. Switch between Stocks and Bitcoin tabs as needed

From the investing screen, you can also buy and sell stocks and Bitcoin, send them to someone you know, or to an external wallet (Bitcoin), and read the latest news. 

2. How to Check Cash App Balance Through The Website 

If for some reason, you don’t have the Cash App app, you can easily check your balance on their website by logging in via a browser on your computer, but also on your smartphone. To do this:

1. Sign in to the Cash App website
2. On the left-hand side of the screen, click on the $ icon
3. See your Cash App balance

On the Cash App website, you can not only see the balance, but also your Cash Card (if you have one), and routing and account numbers that are needed for direct deposits. 

Another helpful thing you can notice here is the sending and receiving limits as well as how much money you can add to your account per week.

3. How to Check Cash App Balance by Support Chat

You can contact the Cash App chat support by logging into your Cash App or the Cash App website. 

To contact Cash App support via the app:

Is Your Cash App Balance Insured by The FDIC?

This is a question we see a lot as people are kind of aware that Cash App isn’t a bank but aren’t sure what that means for their money. 

Because it isn’t a bank, the company is keeping your money in partner banks. And these partner banks are following all the laws and are therefore FDIC insured. 

That means that the funds in your Cash App account balance are indeed protected in the event of Cash App’s collapse. The FDIC covers all eligible accounts up to $250,000 per Cash App client. 

On the other side, Bitcoin and investing balances (stocks) aren’t covered by FDIC insurance.

Does FDIC Cover Money Lost Because of Fraud?

FDIC only entails insurance on deposits on an institutional level. If Cash App goes out of business, your money is protected for up to $250,000. 

Insurance coverage doesn’t provide protection for individual transactions and money lost to scams and hacks, for example. 

How to Stay Safe Using Cash App

As we already mentioned, there’s no shortage of scammers trying to take advantage of Cash App users. That means that they’re often impersonating Cash App support members. Here are some things to remember:                                

• Cash emails only come from @cash.app, @square.com, and @squareup.com
• Solely reply to emails from individuals and organizations you know and trust
• Cash Team or Square only send emails with links to websites at cash.app, square.com, squareup.com, or cash.me 
• In the case that an email includes links to websites other than the ones above, it wasn’t sent by Square/Cash
• Cash App will never ask you to give them your PIN, sign-in code, or SSN
• You will also never be asked to make a purchase, send a payment, download an app for “remote access,” or complete a “test” transaction
