How do you turn on a hotspot

Turn your Windows PC into a mobile hotspot by sharing your Internet connection with other devices over Wi-Fi. You can share a Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or cellular data connection. If your PC has a cellular data connection and you share it, it will use data from your data plan.

1. Select the Start button, then select Settings > Network & internet > Mobile hotspot.

2. For Share my Internet connection from, choose the internet connection you want to share.

3. For Share over, choose how you want to share your connection—over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Wi-Fi is usually faster and the default.

4. Select Edit > enter a new network name, password, and network band > Save.

5. Turn on Mobile hotspot.

6. To connect on the other device, go to the Wi-Fi settings on that device, find your network name, select it, enter the password, and then connect.

1. Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot.

2. For Share my Internet connection from, choose the Internet connection you want to share.

3. Select Edit > enter a new network name and password > Save.

4. Turn on Share my Internet connection with other devices.

5. To connect on the other device, go to the Wi-Fi settings on that device, find your network name, select it, enter the password, and then connect.

4 Enable Mobile Hotspot by swiping the switch to the right

5 Ensure Wi-Fi sharing is switched on in Mobile Hotspot panel

How to configure Mobile Hotspot Click to Expand

1 Tap the 3 vertical dots in Mobile Hotspot panel and select the option accordingly

2 To limit devices, select Allowed devices and enter Device Name and MAC Address.

To find MAC Address in Mobile, select Settings > About phone/About device > Status

3 Select Configure Mobile Hotspot to change Network Name, Password and Security (if needed)

4 Select Timeout Settings to switch off Mobile Hotspot within a certain timeframe
