I love this game so much. What do you recommend for me (other than Elder Scrolls, KOTOR II, Fable)? I just don't feel like any game can compare tio the KOTOR games.

The Baldur's Gate series for PC.

The obvious answer to me is Mass Effect. I've never played the Baldur's Gate games on PC, but Baldur's Gate 2: Dark Alliance on the XBox didn't seem anything like KotOR at all - I only played about an hour of it though.

I hear Dragon Age: Origins is going to be good, maybe you could save up for that.

Mass Effect is pretty standard fare, storywise, for Bioware. The combat engine is wildly different - it's something of a 3rd person shooter merged with an RPG. If that turns you off, then you'll probably want to pass on it.

The PC Baldur's Gate games are extremely similar, gameplay wise, to the KOTORs; dice-rolling, under-the-hood, quasi-real-time combat engine. The BG: Dark Alliance games for Xbox and PS2 are more akin to the X-Men legends or Marvel Ultimate Alliance games - straight up action RPGs. I prefer the former over the latter, but both are good offerings for their particular genres.

Thanks, guys. What about Fallout 3? Is it really an RPG?
Also, was Enertal Sonata good?
What games for the 360 have a really good storyline?

Jade Empire. Argubly a watered down Kotor, but I actrually perfer it.
Note: Battle system is NOT turn based

Reminder Wumaos aren't worth engaging with. See here

From what I've heard, Fallout 3 plays pretty similarly to Oblivion. Never played Eternal Sonata, but it seems to be getting relatively good reviews on it's page.

It's not really an RPG, but I'm currently enjoying the storyline on The Force Unleashed, and I liked Mass Effect.

Okay, what about non-RPGs? What games have really good stoies?

PinkFloydMan73 13 years ago#10

If you like Star Wars, I'd recommend Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. It's pretty much a straight up Action game with a few RPG elements. It's got a pretty good story (it tells the tale of how the rebel alliance was formed, something that was missing from the movies) and very good voice acting. Not to mention that the Force Powers are extremely fun to use. It's definately worth a rental.
