You can apply for a concealed weapon license in person at a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) regional office or an authorized Florida tax collector's office in your area.

Military Members and Veterans

Florida concealed weapon or firearm license applications submitted by active military members and veterans are now expedited.

Active military personnel who want to apply for a concealed weapon license should include a copy of their Common Access Card or other form of official military identification with their applications. We will also accept a copy of service members' current orders as proof of active duty status.

Honorably discharged veterans should submit a copy of their DD 214 long form with their applications.

Are Florida concealed carry permits public record?

Personally identifying information pertaining to a concealed weapon or firearm license is confidential and exempt from Section 119.07(1), Florida Statutes, and Section 24(a), Article 1, of the State Constitution.

Can I carry a gun without a concealed weapons permit in Florida?

Although in Florida people do not need a permit to buy or own a gun, they do need a concealed weapon permit to carry a concealed weapon. However, there are some lawful situations when you can carry a gun without this permit. Some of these situations include: Having the gun in your home or place of business.

How long is a Florida CCW good for?

Your Florida concealed weapon or firearm license is valid for a period of seven years. Approximately 95 days prior to the expiration date of your license, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) will send you a renewal form with complete instructions on how to renew your license.

What happens if someone sees your concealed weapon in Florida?

Florida concealed carry laws allow those with a concealed weapons and firearms license (or CWFL) to carry a loaded firearm concealed on their person. It is not a violation of any law for that firearm to be accidentally displayed.
