Top perks
Up to 3% back: This card earns 3% back on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases, 2% back at restaurants, gas stations, and drugstores, and 1% back on all other purchases. You can redeem your rewards for Amazon purchases or cash back.
$50 bonus gift card: Upon approval for the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card, you'll receive a $50 Amazon gift card. While this doesn't come close to the biggest sign-up bonuses, it's more than what most store credit cards offer.
No annual fee: You don't need to pay an annual fee or be a member of Amazon Prime to get this card, so it's a good choice if you want to earn extra rewards without spending any more money.
No foreign transaction fee: Many credit cards charge a 3% foreign transaction fee, but the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card doesn't.
Consumer and travel protections: For a no annual fee card, the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card offers quite a few useful extras. Consumer protections include auto rental insurance, purchase protection, and extended warranty coverage. Travel protections include lost luggage reimbursement, baggage delay insurance, and travel accident insurance.
Alternatives to consider
- If you want to earn more back: The obvious alternative is this card's "big brother," the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, which you can apply for if you're a member of Amazon Prime. It earns 5% back at Amazon and Whole Foods, so if you spend more than $5,950 at those locations per year (just under $500 per month), the extra 2% back will outweigh the cost of a $119 Amazon Prime membership.
- If you want rotating bonus categories: The Discover it® Cash Back offers 5% cash back on everyday purchases at different places each quarter like Amazon.com, grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations, up to the quarterly maximum of $1,500 on purchases and when you activate. All other purchases earn 1% cash back. That's one of the best cash back rates that we've seen on a no annual fee card.

Amazon Rewards Visa Card credit score
You have a solid chance of a successful application for the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card if your credit score is in the fair-to-good range, and the suggested FICO® Score to apply is 670 or above. It's possible to get approved with a lower score, but it makes more sense to work on your credit first and give yourself a better shot. Note that because Chase is the card issuer on the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card, Chase's 5/24 rule could lead to a declined application for consumers who have opened too many credit cards in the past two years.
This credit card is right for you if:
Truth be told, the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card serves a small niche. It's great for consumers who want to earn more at Amazon, Whole Foods, and this card's other bonus categories, but who don’t want to pay for an Amazon Prime membership.
On the other hand, if you're one of the many people who already have an Amazon Prime membership, you'll qualify for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, which is a better card overall.
