Cheapest phone plan for one person unlimited data reddit

Look into Simple Mobile, several plans available, in addition to, an unlimited data plan (LTE), runs on the T-mobile network with 10 GB Hotspot included! Also, if you need to tether from that plan once your 10GB allowance is up I recommend you download PDANet/Foxfi. If you have a laptop running Windows 10, hotspot is already included within Windows 10. Works wonders!

My choice is Tello. Tmobile has the best coverage where I am.

Tello will roll over unused minutes and data to the next month, if you renew a day or two early. Also you can change your plan at any time.

It's a great choice for a backup phone, a kid at school, someone always on wifi, or a senior who doesn't use data.

Article ignores the actual best cheap plans - Hello Mobile $5, Red Pocket eBay $30/yr, Unreal $10, Walmart FreedomPop $0, and TextNow $0, Visible $25.

another list that seems to be good at the top, but i dont know most of these mvnos towards the bottom

A few people in the comments are loving T-Mobile, and don’t get me wrong, I have never had an issue with their service. I pay $70/mo for unlimited everything and also pay $40/mo for a cellular plan for my iPad. However, this most recent data breach a few months ago really left a bad taste in my mouth, and I’ve been meaning to switch ever since. My name, SSN, phone number, address, drivers license info, and IMEI number were all leaked. I know that data breaches happen pretty often, but T-Mobile has had FIVE data breaches since 2018 (and I have been a customer during all of them). They clearly don’t take information security seriously, and it makes me not want to continue giving them my money.

The cheapest "unlimited" plan ive found with my research would be hello mobile.

They operate on TMobile and advertise unlimited everything for $25 a month.

BTW - don't try to deter me from hello mobile. I currently use them and they do work well for my needs. I've never had the issues with auto pay failures and service cut offs - and i was expecting them because i researched hm before switching and noticed their common complaints.

While their csrs are lacking at best - they are starting to show the interest in becoming better by actually reaching out to customers during the migration mess their systems are in right now. Including reaching out to customers that ported out to ensure the port went smoothly and to give out full refunds - which is something their tos states they don't usually do.

The only other carrier ive bumped into that's comparable requires some hoop jumping: Visible on Verizon has the $40 unlimited plan - but you can get that down to $25 a month by joining a party. You would still need to pay the $40 for the first months until a party accepts you or until your own party gets at least 4 lines in it.

Want to help?

My mission is to help people save money on their cell phone bill by enabling them to find an affordable plan to meet their needs.

To do this, I want to make BestPhonePlans.net one of the ultimate resources for getting information about cell phone plans, whether it’s carrier reviews, guides on how to enter APN settings, step-by-step tutorials on how to transfer your number or activate a new plan, or explaining key concepts in the cell phone industry.

So, I’m looking for help! I’m looking for writers to write content & share ideas, and anyone interested in helping to build out the international cell phone plans database for plans in Canada, Mexico, Europe, and more.

If you share a similar vision of helping people reduce their cell phone bill, or you want to share tips and tricks you wish you knew, a tutorial or how-to guide, or another piece of content you think would be helpful, I’d love to hear from you.

A Bonus for You, Reddit!

The chart has honestly gotten so huge and packed with so much information, that I myself have started to find it overwhelming!

To more easily compare plans, check out this special page on BestPhonePlans.net. It lists ALL plans, with no filters, and lets you compare plans more visually. I love it and use it personally. The plans are sorted by cost, lowest to highest, and by data amount, highest to lowest. This naturally filters the best plans with the most data toward the front of their respective price categories.

About Me

I realize not everyone here may know who I am! Hi, my name is Stetson. I got into cell phone plans around 2014 when I was a student in high school trying to find a cheap data plan for my iPhone 5. I began testing out and reviewing cell phone carriers on my YouTube channel. In my senior year of college in 2019, my friend Peter and I designed and built BestPhonePlans.net as a senior project to complement the YouTube channel. I now work full time on YouTube and BestPhonePlans.net and am based out of Colorado.

Cheers to the new year, and I hope you find this chart helpful!

If you’re interested in showing your support, check out my Patreon page for cool perks & benefits, or simply buy me a coffee here. This is by no means necessary, though certainly appreciated, and the money helps cover the plans I test out, web hosting, and other business expenses. :)
