I'm coming toPhoenix the 2nd week of October and looking a hotel that has a lazy river. Suggestions? Extra points if it is in a walkable neighborhood location.

These have expansive pool areas, and I think lazy rivers. Definitely not in walkable neighborhoods.

This one has a lazy river, also not in a walkable neighborhood:

Dessert Ridge has one and it also has a swim up bar. Our daughter loves to stay there for a night or two when she visits our place.

Just to clarify, I think Thelrose is referring to theJW Marriott Desert Ridge. It's a longish walk to Desert Ridge Marketplace that has typical chain restaurants and shopping. The Westin Kierland has a lazy river, flow rider and water slide. It is adjacent to Kierland Commons shopping area and Scottsdale Quarter - plenty of restaurants to choose from. They offer a free shuttle but it's literally across the street.

The above list is all of the lazy rivers at resorts in MetroPhoenix. This doesn't include actual water parks.
To clarify, the Pointe HIlton Tapatio does NOT have a lazy river, just a slide and fairly large pool complex. The smallest lazy river is at Pointe Squaw Peak, but it's still fun. The Arizona Grand is a huge water park style pool area. The Westin Kierland and JW Marriott Desert Ridge rivers are similar to each other; I prefer the Westin Kierland, and it also has the Flow Rider, as mentioned, but pay attention to the hours and reservations for ride times, if required.
Most of the larger resorts here are not in walkable areas. The Westin Kierland is an exception, though, as it's across the street from Kierland Commons. Regardless, if you want to go anywhere else, you do need a car.
