Dolce & Gabbana unveiled its first fragrance for women nearly three decades ago in 1992. Through the years, the fashion house has stayed true to its mission of embodying Mediterranean luxury while simultaneously coming up with scent profiles to match every season, mood, and style. That includes everyone from gourmand lovers and die-hard floral fragrance connoisseurs to beach bums and nature enthusiasts—there really is no exception.

But out of all of them, I'm willing to bet my hard-earned funds that you've experienced D&G’s famous Light Blue Eau de Toilette before. After all, it's easily the Italian brand’s most well-known scent. You might recall the famed fruity-floral fragrance's simple yet timelessly elegant rectangular bottle. Or, perhaps, the perfume's crisp notes are like that of a special memory: reminiscent of a joyful summer day spent sailing on the Sicilian sea (a landlocked girl can dream, right?).

As famous as Light Blue is, there’s so much more to the brand's fragrance lineup than just a singular scent. To point, a quick look at Sephora's Dolce & Gabbana fragrance offerings shows there are practically too many perfumes in the house’s portfolio to count—many of which have a nearly perfect five-star review. And while I could rattle all of them off, I've settled for compiling nine of my favorites and waxing poetic about them in excruciating detail (thank me later).

Ahead, I’ve curated a list of nine Dolce & Gabbana fragrances to consider scooping up during your next beauty haul.

The Best Dolce & Gabbana Fragrances, Ranked

1. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

Light Blue earns the top spot on my list of D&G favorites because its fresh, fruity, and refreshing notes are like an olfactory energy drink. Launched in 2001, the fragrance is a celebrity in the perfume aisle that transcends the test of time. I love it, my mother loves it, and so does everyone I've gifted it to through the years. For me, it gets me thinking about those small-but-special summer memories: a sunset walk with a loved one, a dip in the pool when the sun's at its highest, or an ice cream cone after a long day at the beach. Simply put: it's timeless.

2. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever

Sister to the aforementioned Light Blue, Light Blue Forever is a touch sweeter and juicier, a tad more feminine than its predecessor. Unlike the OG, the new-for-2021 version amps up the heart of the scent with orange blossom and white floral notes. While the original is crisp and refreshing, this one's the slightest bit more youthful. Admittedly, the two do smell quite alike, but those minor composition alterations make the biggest difference for some. As for me, I'll just be adding both to my cart.

3. Dolce & Gabbana The One

This one is hands-down one of my favorite scents during the fall and winter seasons. It opens with soft but sweet notes of peach and citrus, but it dries down to a sophisticated fusion of creamy vanilla and cozy amber. I love spritzing it on as much as I love lighting a delicious candle when it gets chilly outside.

4. Dolce & Gabbana Shine

If someone were to magically bottle up the feeling that comes with those first warm summer beach days, this perfume would be the result. With fruity floral notes notes of mango, grapefruit, and jasmine, it’s one of those fragrances in which its packaging and name are right on the nose with what it actually smells like: sunshine. You know that beach blanket you've been using on repeat, that smells of sun-soaked coconutty sunscreen? That's what this smells like.

5. Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Garden

Frequently described as "summer in a bottle," this delightful fragrance is just that, but I must say that I reserve it for particular occasions, perhaps determinedly fancy ones. Even though this one's called "Dolce Garden," I'd rename it "Dolce Gourmand." Seconds in, you'll briefly imagine yourself sipping a piña colada on the beach thanks to its delectable coconut, sweet vanilla, and sunny ylang-ylang notes. As it dries down, its base notes of vanilla and sandalwood undeniably veer on the heavier—and more sensual side.

6. Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rose

I haven't ever had the pleasure of walking through a rose garden (tbh, my allergies could never), but this is precisely what I imagine the experience would smell and feel like. To be clear, the rose notes are subtle but in my book that's OK. It's well-rounded with its bright notes of red currant and playful fruit ones so that it's not like you’re being suffocated with a bouquet of roses (who wants that, anyway?).

7. Dolce & Gabbana Pour Feme

“For women” is right—this effeminate scent is the sophisticated, adult, pantsuit-wearing version of the powdery-sweet scent I spritzed on as a teen. If you're scared of marshmallow notes like I was (traumatized by the cheap body sprays of my youth), this perfume convinced me that the sweet gourmand can be worked into a fragrance and still smell mature and sophisticated. Catch me spritzing it onto a chunky sweater for a day at the office or simply snuggling up for a movie night in.

8. Dolce & Gabbana 3 L’IMPERATRIC

If the concept of a sweet and sour perfume intrigues you, let me introduce you to 3 L'IMPERATRICE. The one and only reason this scent falls at the end of my list is that I see how its tart notes of rhubarb and kiwi might polarize certain perfume-wearers. It's a scent that's on the stronger side, no doubt, but in my opinion, it’s well-blended like an expertly made fruit salad. I definitely recommend testing this one out to see how it wears on your skin (you know perfume smells differently on everyone). If you're into clean, fruity, and ultra-feminine scents, I have a feeling this one will be a welcomed addition to your vanity.

9. K by Dolce & Gabbana

I’m not sure how I feel about this Dolce & Gabbana fragrance being called K (it reminds me of being served some attitude via text), though it’s supposed to stand for “King.” Born to—as the brand puts it—“capture the essence of a man in his element,” its cedarwood and green notes sure do skew more masculine. But hi, woman here! The brand does wrong by failing to embrace that this could easily be dubbed a unisex scent. I think D&G has a tendency to market towards men or women exclusively, and it's a shame that so many ladies skip out on this one! It's like walking through a forest after a rainfall—woody and clean, with hints of citrus.

Is Dolce Gabbana men good?

Dolce & Gabbana is an Italian luxury house that doesn't have a whole lot of options in terms of men's colognes but there sure do have some really good ones available. Their top perfumes are generally fresh and masculine without ever being overbearing.
