help with Camshaft Positioning Sensor

I have a 2007 2.7 Hyundai Santa Fe and need to replace the bank 1 camshaft positioning. Can someone please give me a diagram or explain exactly where the location is of this sensor? I've asked other forums and no one gives me an answer. Please help.

Have you tried looking at a Haynes manual?

I'm not a Hyundai person but I know engines. Cam shaft sensors are usually on the front of the engine. If the engine has belts to drive the camp the sensor is near where the belt wraps around the cam gear. Look for a connector on each side where the cams are located. There only needs to be 1 sensor on a dual cam engine. Un plug the connect then look for a screw or bolt hold it in place. If you take it out they are a coil of wire inside a metal cylinder kind of the size of an AA battery only shorter. There is a permanent magnate on the cam which activates the sensor. All piston engines have the same parts. The crank shaft censor will be lower on the engine.

It's at the end of the fuel rail on the timing belt end. You will see a stabilising link from the engine mounting to the engine, if you look directly down and just to the left you will see the sensor. It is quite hard to reach and does require some dismantling before you can get at it. Also, just to point out that it is much more likely that the crank sensor is faulty rather than that cam sensor, these engines have common faults with the crank sensor.

oh thank you for that. i was really struggling to find it.
also about the crank sensor, on the diagnostics the code that only came up was the camshaft sensor, p0341. ima try and replace the cam sensor if not then ill replace the crank as well, hopefully itl start by then. thanks again for the help.

The only way to see the sensor is get under the car and look in the gap above the drive shaft into the bottom of the engine bay , follow the two wire cables to the oil sensor and the camshaft sensor
That is the only way to access it easily

What are the symptoms of a faulty camshaft sensor?

A glowing check engine light, stalling, poor acceleration and bad fuel mileage are all possible signs your camshaft position sensor may be failing. Gone are the days of carburetors and distributors, replaced by a variety of sensors that help a car's computer get the maximum performance out of the engine.
